About the event
Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles (“The Pearl Fishers”) transports us to the exotic shores of ancient Ceylon, where two lifelong friends are torn apart by their love for the same woman—a sacred priestess whose vow of chastity is tested by forbidden passion. Famed for its shimmering orchestration and the ravishing tenor–baritone duet “Au fond du temple saint”, this early Bizet gem blends lush melodies with a tale of loyalty, love, and sacrifice.
