Zachary McCulloch

TENOR

Welcome

Welcome to the official website of New Zealand born tenor, Zachary McCulloch.

Bellini puts huge pressure on the vocal tessitura required for the principal tenor role of Gualtiero...A role abounding with High C's and D's, sung by a rich and velvety voiced discovery for us to hear.

The lyrical and dramatically voiced 'bel-canto' exponent, Zachary McCulloch...most definitely 'nailed it' time after time.

"In his later scenes. there was something desperately affecting about his unadorned anguish. And his vocal work in "Vieni! Cerciam pe' Mari..." was masterful"

McCulloch sang with increased assurance as Ferrando. He has a most attractive voice and was a huge asset to the ensembles... Both young men threw themselves wholeheartedly into the comedy. McCulloch was simply hilarious during the seduction scene when the four lovers were squashed together on the couch, a Stan Laurel brand of wide-eyed, alarmed innocence increasing the comic tension during a prolonged silence.
